Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Rabbi David Sedley now lives in Jerusalem with his wife and children. He currently teaches on www.webyeshiva.org and works on translating and editing the Steinsaltz/Koren English Talmud. Previously he served for four years in Scotland as the Rabbi of Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation, followed by four years as Rabbi of Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue in Leeds, England.
He spent several years studying in yeshiva and kollelim in Jerusalem, Israel.
He has a Masters Degree in education from the Open University of Great Britain and a Post Graduate Diploma in adult education from Nottingham University. His undergraduate degree is in English literature, and the history and theory of music. He also plays guitar.
