The days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur have a hallowed place in the consciousness of the Jewish People. The sensitive soul approaches these days with a blend of anticipation and reverence, of hope and awe. We each have our own highlights in the prayers — moments that we identify with especially, and which strike a chord deep within. These are indeed special days. But they are also days that are sometimes not fully understood…

The deeper and clearer our understanding of what is meant to happen during the Yamim Noraim, the more effectively we will be able to connect with the themes that run through these days and tap into their essence, receiving all they have to offer.

If there is ever a time of year when it is absolutely crucial that the heart and mind work together, it is during the days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This deep, moving, erudite, philosophical, and highly original and inspirational work attunes our hearts and minds to these awe-inspiring days.

“…Rabbi Immanuel Bernstein’s latest work…shines forth with his usual mastery of knowledge, erudition and insight. Like all of his books, this one is to be read, revised, savored and treasured.”

Rabbi Berel Wein

“…useful, thoughtful and inspirational…All serious students and mevakshei Hashem will find Rabbi Bernstein’s work to be of great value in making this extraordinary time of the year significantly more comprehensible and meaningful. It is exciting to see Torah on such a level being made available to the tzibbur…”

This style and format of this book is excellent to learn the basics or if you want to check facts about Teshuva it’s a great reference book. I would definitely recommend it!

For the target audience, this is a really wonderful book that doesn’t retread on familiar ideas. It really offers clear, relatable insight into the High Holiday season. How to take advantage of each period (Elul, Rosh Hashannah, 10-days of Teshuvah, Yom Kippur, etc.) and how to understand the opportunities they all provide. Highly recommended for any level learner…
